I tell you what...that's as thorough and insightful analysis I've heard. Fornnette tip ties through the hole vs attacking it. They need a homerun piece coming out the backfield and Fornnette ain't it. Lastly, They lack real speed on the outside. Someone to stretch the field. Julio has not panned out so far. On defense, Hicks with Veta was suppose to be dominant and allow the athleticism of the edge guys to dominant the line of scrimmage. They are at times getting manhandled. The Ravens is a great test. Lamar Jackson certainly won't feel sorry and will look to attempt to shoot the kill shot to the Bucs 2022 season!
Thursday night is hard to predict. The short week could short circuit them in a good or bad way by forcing them to prepare differently. I'm very curious how it turns out.
I was at the game Sunday and have been a Bucs fan since 1976. Your analysis is spot on. All of our problems are tied to the predictable offense we run. I think Leftwich fails to recognize that we need to pass in order to set up the run. When defenses go to light boxes and back off to stop Brady et al, then you run draws with a power back like Lenny and watch the yards pile up. He also runs a ton of WR screens which is useless against loaded boxes. It’s a numbers game and he thinks his superior talent will always win even against numbers disadvantage. Sooooo frustrating to watch.
"Pass in order to setup the run" is the mindset Byron needs to adopt. On running into heavy boxes, the Bucs do it the 18th most of any team but are 31st in effectiveness when doing it. So they need to do it way less.
Great read. Totally agree. The Bucs need to pass to set up some second and short runs, not run the ball to set up second and ten passes. It’s insane.

Great article man! Damn, I thought removing Arians and giving Leftwich the total control of the offense was the best thing that could happen to us…
Brady still has it, just Leftwich’s playcalling waaaayyyy toooo predictable and not working with the strengths of the offense (Evans and Godwin)
Also OL not that terrible but Goedeke is struggling and he was left alone several plays against Heyward with Hainsey looking to help Mason SMH
